About Me

I am Mom to the cutest baby on the planet! Okay, I might be a little biased here. But really, he is adorable.

I am also a budget nerd and voracious deal hunter. I didn’t start out that way though. The younger version of me paid little attention to where my money was being spent. Back in those days, money was just something I had or I didn’t. A little bit of budgeting could’ve prevented me wandering around broke so often.

Personal finance became my passion as I learned the ways of the world. The thrill I’d get every time I saved a dollar at the grocery store or found that I had extra money left at the end of the month was a feeling that was hard to beat. I am probably border lining on obsessed at this point, but I prefer this financial stability over the money-ignorant ways of my younger self.

I try to apply my budget mentality to all aspects of my life, including having a baby. There is so much information out there about having and raising babies, but not as much on the day-to-day finances of providing for a little one. Sure, you can find all kinds of stats on how much the average baby costs, but this tells you nothing about how your specific grocery bill will change, or what costs you will need to plan for months or even years in advance.

This is largely why I started the Budget My Baby blog. To share the raw numbers on baby-related spending and to offer savings tips and budgeting hacks. Also, my husband is tired of hearing me wax poetically about the newest diaper deal I found. To read more on why I started this blog, read my inaugural post.

Hopefully, you find what I post here to be insightful and helpful. I strongly believe that having and raising a baby is a stressful experience and the state of your finances should never get in the way of bonding with your precious little one.

Oh, and if you have some tips or hacks that you have learned during you child-rearing journey, please feel free to share them; we all can benefit from what each other have learned.
